Welcome to the SAIL Bhilai Steel Half Marathon, a celebration of endurance, engineering excellence, and national pride. Bhilai—India’s iconic Rail City—is a planned city built on discipline, community spirit, and nation-building values. Powered by the Bhilai Steel Plant (SAIL), the city is home to the world’s longest single-piece rail (130 metres) and has the capability to produce 260-metre rail panels, helping India move farther, faster, and safer. From everyday railway tracks to landmark engineering marvels, Bhilai steel has played a defining role in India’s infrastructure growth. Most notably, Bhilai Steel Plant supplied a major share of the steel used in the Chenab Rail Bridge, the world’s highest railway bridge.
